Organic loose leaf Ceylon tea

Ceylon tea is a black tea from Sri Lanka formerly known as Ceylon, hence the name of the tea. Ceylon tea contains high amounts of antioxidants and offers various health benefits. It is a delicious black tea base that combines well with other herbs, seeds and, fruits. Compared to Assam tea, Ceylon tea can be described as more subtle with citrusy and mentholated notes. 

Ceylon tea is made from Camellia Sinensis

Just like green tea and white tea, Ceylon Black tea is also made from the plant Camellia Sinensis. It originates from Sri Lanka. Ceylon black tea is heavily oxidized compared to green tea and white tea. The tea leaves are exposed to air after they have been plucked, this is how the leaves get their dark color. The tea has a full-bodied flavor with notes of citrus due to the unique environmental conditions in which it is grown.
